This is written for anyone who is, Just curious, considering trying to become a professional photographer, and also for my friends and family to understand my life now.
Wed: Woke up at 7 worked for 4 hours, packed for 30 min, and took a 6 hour train ride to Abashiri, (E. Hokkaido). Edited photos till 1 Thurs: Woke up at 7 rode my bike 60km to Kitami taking farm photos along the way for my new theme. Worked 2-9 took train to Abashiri. Edited photos till 2. Fri. Woke up at 7, 1 hour Train to Bihoro, took photos of a recent flood for my new theme. Train to Kitami, worked 3-9 train to Abashiri, Edited photos till 1 Sat: Woke at at 6, rode my bike 60km over Bihoro pass to kusharo lake while taking many photos. slept in a unused cabin at 9. Sun: Woke up at 4, rode my bike to Kushiro city through the wetlands while taking many photos. When to photo show in Kushiro, took 9 hour train to Takikawa (home) arrived at midnight, Edited photos and worked on my web page till 2. Mon: Woke up at 7, worked 8am - 9pm! spend my lunch break taking to my photography teacher about my new project. Ate dinner with my girlfriend (first time in almost a week) packed and edited photos till 2am. Tues: woke up at 5 and climbed Kamihoro-dake in Daisetsuzan, stayed up till midnight taking star photos. slept in a wood hut on top of the mountain. -20C Wed: Woke at 5am to take sunrise photos. climbed down, drove home, changed clothes and shaved in 15 min's. started work at 3:30- 8:30. slept at midnight. Thursday: up at 8, (sleeping in) spent all day in sapporo. going to galleries and talking to the Fuji Film gallery curator about my up coming show. Photo related shopping, home at midnight. in bed at 2. Fri: Up at 7:30, worked 2 hours. Did laundry finally, Worked on my web site, researched photo things, Edited photos,Talked with my teacher, prepared for up coming photo show, etc. |
Avg. hours slept per day, 5.5 Nights in my own bed 3 Meals at my house 3 100Y pastas from Seiko-mart 15+. Avg. hours per day doing photography related things 10+ Distance traveled 2000+km! By bike, about 250km Photo shows visited 5 Photos taken 700+ (much lower than my avg) mostly just 4 different days i was shooting. Good enough to edit and print 25 Movies watched, ZERO Hours watching TV 1 (Japanese World Series) Money spent on photography things 200$ (excluding travel) Money made from photography 0! Percent of expendable income spent on photography and photo related travel over 90% Visitors to my web site about 1000 from 38 countries. |
