Bann Tantawann is my new home! Bann Tantawann is located 55km north of Chiang Mai, Thailand. It is on the boarder of the Sri Lanna National Park in the foot hills of the Himalaya See Maps. Bann Tantawann is at 500m elevation and the surrounding mountains are as tall as 2,565m (8,415 feet).

Bann Tantawann translates as The sunflower House. It is common in Thai culture for houses to have names.
Now at Bann Tantawann only the writer's hut and shower are finished. It is made from adobe bricks with a thatch roof. The windows, door and wood for the roof came from an old house that was torn down. I also used some bamboo that i cut myself locally.
Bann Tantawann is on 3 Rai (1.2 acres). 4 years ago it was a grass hill that had been logged. Now many trees have grown back (2-4M). I have great neighbors on both sides of me, Pun Pun sustainable living and learning center, the Panya Project & The You Sabai Cooking School
