These Japanese/Chinese characters mean literally, "Come - Peace" They are pronounced in both Japanese and Chinese "rai-an" or "Ryan"
Many people who have lived in Japan and China have characters that they use while in that country. However most are read very different from how their name actually sounds and/or have no meaning together.
I was lucky during my 4 years in Japan to be given charters that sound like my name, have a good meaning and are easy to understand.
The fact that the Chinese & Japanese both read it the same way is also very lucky.
