Mark's BIO
by Tim Patterson |
|
Mark is a soft-spoken dare-devil, steady as a rock. The two of us have muddled through more than our share of life-threatening situations, but I can't remember Mark ever losing his cool or raising his voice, even when he was sliding out of control down an icy mountainside.
Mark's equanimity might be a Midwestern thing, or it might have something to do with the fact that he grew up with 5 brothers. He knows how to have a good time, but he also knows that getting all worked up won't solve anything, and it's better to just quietly chuckle, fix the problem and keep climbing up the mountain.
Mark doesn't always say a lot, but he notices a great deal. His photos are perceptive, creative and carefully composed. Mark takes his time with each photo, finding the right angle, waiting for the right light. He doesn't shoot rapid-fire snapshots, bringing the same poise and discipline to photography that he uses in traditional Japanese archery. |
